Hey, My names Ava and I am the owner and founder of Cupcakesbyava. I started the business during the first lockdown back in 2020 and haven't look back since.

Back in 2020 I was baking during lockdown for my family and friends. I made everything from banana bread to caramel squares. Fast forward a couple of months and I quickly realised that baking was something I wanted to pursue full time so my dad converted our home shed into a bakery for me.

While working away baking cakes full time I started a degree in Baking and Pastry arts management in TUD. I made it half way through second year when I realised my business was already booming without the qualification and I had to choose between the degree or pursuing my business. I made the tough decision to drop out of college to pursue my business full time and I haven't looked back since. It was the best decision I have ever made.

Fast forward 4 years and I have my own shopfront. This is all I have ever dreamed of, from as long as I can remember all I have wanted to do is bake cakes and here I am at the age of 22 living my dream. I employ my mum full-time and we are the dream team.

I would be so lost without the help of my friends and family, especially my mum and dad. I can't wait to see what the next few months has in store for Cupcakesbyava.
